TikTok Music Now Available in Australia, Other Countries

Following its initial roll-out in Brazil and Indonesia, TikTok’s parent company, ByteDance has rolled out its new subscription-based music streaming service – TikTok Music in Australia, Mexico, and Singapore. The company is inviting select users in these markets through a closed beta program.

TikTok Music is giving beta participants a three-month free trial to test the new streaming service. To join the beta, users can download the app from the Apple App store, Google Play store and TikTok Music official website. iOS users who opt for the three-month trial can cancel anytime by going to the App Store to cancel the subscription.

Open the Settings app > Tap Apple ID name > Tap Subscriptions > Click on the Subscription and Tap Cancel Subscription.

The service offers the ability to stream, download and share songs from major music labels as well as sync information from personal TikTok account to the service. Other features include importing music library, creating collaborative playlists, Shazam-style music identification, and real-time lyrics viewing.

Individual pricing starts at MXN 95 (MXN 115) in Mexico and S$7.90 (S$9.90) in Singapore for the regular plans. In Australia, the service is available for as low as AU$ 5.99 for the student plan; AU$ 8.99 (AU$ 11.99) for the Individual plan and the family plan – for up to 6 accounts – goes for AU$ 18.99.  According to DataReportal, the US (116.5 million), Indonesia (113 million) and Brazil (84.1 million) are TikTok’s top three biggest markets by active users aged 18 years and above. Mexico (62.4 million) is TikTok’s fourth largest market while Russia (51.2 million) rounds-off the top five.
