WWDC22: Apple’s Developer Conference Confirmed For June

Apple’s annual Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) has always been an in-person event; however, the company has had to host the last two editions virtually due to the pandemic. This year’s edition is no difference, the Worldwide Developer Conference 2022 (or simply WWDC22) will officially happen virtually at zero cost from June 6 – 10 (PDT).

In addition to the online event, there will be a limited in-person session at the Apple Park on June 6 (PDT) for developers and students to attend. According to Apple, they will be able to watch the keynote and State of the Union videos live at the same time as the online community. Details on how to attend will be made available on Apple’s developer website in coming days.

WWDC22 is primarily expected to shed the light on upcoming versions of Apple software – the iOS (iOS 16), iPadOS (iPadOS 16), macOS (macOS 13), watchOS (watchOS 9) and tvOS (tvOS 16). Students will also be able to showcase their coding ability through the Swift Student Challenge and developers will have access to Apple engineers and new Apple technologies as well as tools. There are also talks of possible new hardware (VR headset/new Macbook Air or MacBook Pro powered by Apple Silicon). Winners of this year’s version of Apple Design Awards will also be announced.
