TrendForce: Expect Four iPhone 15 Models, USB-C

TrendForce has published a report on the current state of iPhone 14 sales, whilst providing some insights into next year’s model – the iPhone 15. The company has been experiencing favorable orders for the iPhone 14 Pro series, meanwhile the reception for the iPhone 14 Plus has been the opposite. This will lead to an increase in production of the Pro models (by up to 60-65%) and the company’s target is to push 240 million units of all four models.

Looking forward, the firm believes Apple will maintain four iPhone 15 models and there will be further differentiation between the pro and standard models. As it is with the iPhone 14 models, there will be two choices of processors, most likely the A16 Bionic from the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max for the standard models and the new A17 Bionic reserved for the high-end Pro models.

The iPhone 15 Pro models will further separate themselves with higher memory space (from 6GB to 8GB RAM), 8P camera lens and periscope lens for the 15 Pro Max. Apple is expected to comply with the new EU law by making the switch from Lightning Cable to USB-C on the iPhone 15. The company’s in-house 5G modem will not be ready in time for these devices, however, this opens the door for the continued collaboration Qualcomm for them.

As we all know, these are just early days, and a lot could change before they launch next year.
