Sing-Along Karaoke-Style with Apple Music Sing

Apple has announced the introduction of a lyrics-based experience to Apple Music. The feature, called Apple Music Sing, allows users to sing along to their favourite tune karaoke-style with adjustable vocals and real-time lyrics. Apple Music subscribers globally will be able to access this feature later this month, however, Apple Music Voice plan subscribers will be exempted.

Available on compatible iPhone, iPad and Apple TV 4K models, Apple Music Sing leverages the streaming platform’s tens of millions of songs and videos. Subscribers will the capability to control the song’s original vocal level to be able to sing along with real-time animated lyrics. There is an option for multiple vocalists to tap into singing bag as a duet.

Sing-Along Karaoke-Style with Apple Music Sing

Alongside the launch, Apple has curated 50 compelling playlists to kickstart the karaoke experience. Speaking on the release of the feature, Apple’s vice president of Apple Music and Beats, Oliver Schusser said:

“Apple Music’s lyrics experience is consistently one of the most popular features on our service. We already know our users all over the world love to follow along to their favourite songs, so we wanted to evolve this offering even further to enable even more engagement around music through singing. It is really a lot of fun, our customers are going to love it.”

Apple Music Sing is expected to arrive with iOS 16.2 later this month. Other features expected include: 10-minute AirDrop limit for the rest of the world (already available in China), always-on display options, sleep and medications widgets, new home architecture, more frequent live activities and the freeform productivity app for collaborating on iOS, macOS and iPadOS.
