To get started, each participant must have the Group Transcribe app installed and start a shared session to capture accurate transcript of conversations in real time. Users are encouraged to focus entirely on the conversation and let the app record the conversation. Transcripts of the conversation are available in over 80 local languages including Arabic, Cantonese, Chinese, Danish, Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish. After each session, users can decide to browse, save, move, or share the transcripts with others.

Commenting on the launch of the app, the Principal Development Lead and one of the lead engineers who built the project, Franklin Munoz said;

“This can be a fantastic tool for communication. What I would love to see is for this to break down barriers for people speaking across multiple languages.”
