Malala Yousafzai Inks Multi-Year Apple TV+ Production Deal

Youngest Nobel Laureate and Women’s Right Activist, Malala Yousafzai has signed a multi-year production deal with Apple’s TV streaming service, Apple TV+. The partnership would see Malala’s new production company, Extracurricular produce original programming for Apple TV+ that span different genres including animation, children’s series, comedies, and dramas.

Malala’s deal with Apple TV+ will also draw on her ability to Inspire people. The Pakistani born activist has authored/co-authored three books including her best-selling memoir -‘I Am Malala’ and co-founded Malala fund, a non-profit organization advocating for girls’ education and education rights. She is also the brain behind ‘Assembly’, a digital newsletter and platform for girls and young women all over the world.

Apple’s partnership with Malala started back in 2018, where the company became Malala Fund’s first laureate partner. Both organisations work with local advocates and teachers around the world to tackle issues in countries where girls face education issues.

Commenting on the deal with Apple TV+, Malala Yousafzai said;

“I believe in the power of stories to bring families together, forge friendships, build movements, and inspire children to dream. And I couldn’t ask for a better partner than Apple to help bring these stories to life. I’m grateful for the opportunity to support women, young people, writers, and artists in reflecting the world as they see it.”
