Official: MacBook Pro with M2 Pro and M2 Max

Apple has refreshed the MacBook Pro line with new additions to its ranks – the MacBook Pro with M2 Pro or MacBook Pro with M2 Max. Either chip option is packed into a MacBook Pro with 14- or 16-inch display models, faster Wi-Fi, same exterior design as the previous generation, and performance rated up to 6x faster than the fastest Intel-based MacBook Pro (Core i9) available.

The M2 Pro delivers 10- or 12-core CPU with up to 19-core GPU, 200GB/s of unified memory bandwidth and 32GB of unified memory while the M2 Max has a 12-core CPU with 38-core GPU, 400GB/s of unified memory bandwidth and up to 96GB of unified memory. The Neural engine in the M2 Pro and M2 Max is 40-percent faster, and a new media engine is onboard for video encoding and others. The more powerful M2 Max also boasts of 2x faster video encoding than M2 Pro.

The new MacBook Pro has Liquid Retina XDR display with ProMotion technology for adaptive refresh rate up to 120Hz, 1080p FaceTime HD camera, studio-quality mics, 6x speaker sound system, 3x Thunderbolt 4 ports, and battery life is rated to last up to up to 22 hours. It now supports Wi-Fi 6E and advanced HDMI, which supports up to 8K displays. Pre-orders is scheduled for January 24 in Australia, Australia, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Macau, New Zealand, and others.
