Report: Apple’s iPhone Subscription Plan Still In The Works

Fresh off launching the new iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro models, Apple is said to be still working on a monthly iPhone subscription for customers similar to its Apple One plan for services. Early reports of such service surfaced earlier this year, however, there was no mention of such service at the ‘Far Off’ iPhone 14 event.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, through his popular Power On” newsletter, reports that the tech giant is actively testing the iPhone subscription service which is expected to go official sometime this year or in 2023. The service is expected to allow customers combine an iPhone (and iPad) along with various services such as iCloud, Apple Music, and more, for a monthly fee.

The service is also expected to tie both AppleCare and Apple One. Gurman reckons the service is closer to launch and Apple didn’t announce the service at the recent iPhone event to reduce the lunch day hassle. The service could make an appearance in October when new iPads and possibly Macs would likely be announced, or it gets a standalone announcement.

There are currently different financing programs for different countries and regions, including the iPhone Upgrade Program, Apple Card (US) and installment plans from carriers. The new service will however, set itself apart from regular monthly installments offered by having a specific fee that doesnt equate to the total price of the iPhone after a period of time.
