The increase in battery capacity in the iPhone 13 series would translate into almost 10% increase in the iPhone 13 and 13 Pro, when compared to the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro (2,815mAh) and 8% increase in the iPhone 13 mini, when compared to the iPhone 12 mini (2,227mAh). Comparatively, the iPhone 13 Pro Max would gain up to 18% more battery capacity over the 3,687mAh battery on the iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Different sources have attributed the presence of larger batteries to different features and changes including the rumoured 120Hz ProMotion display, Always-On display (AOD) and the SIM card slot moving into the motherboard. It has also resulted in an increase in overall thickness of these devices. The iPhone 13 series are said to be on track for a late-September release.
