Google’s next biggest product event, the I/O is scheduled to hold on May 10, 2023, at the Shoreline Amphitheatre, Mountain View, California. The annual developers conference has been an avenue to showcase new developments, software, and upcoming products. I/O 2023 will be no different as the company is expected to reveal more information about the Google Pixel Fold smartphone.

Joining the likes of Samsung, Motorola, and OPPO; Google has also thrown its hat into the ring with its first foldable smartphone. Asides confirming its existence, there is no official information on its features, specification, and pricing. However, the Pixel Fold smartphone is expected to have a 7.6-inch (2092 x 1080) OLED outer display and 5.8-inch (2208 x 1840) OLED cover display.
Both displays have respective 120Hz refresh rate. The rest of the leaked specs include Google Tensor G2 chip, UFS 3.1 storage, 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and a triple rear camera system – 48MP (f/1.7) + 10.8MP (f/3.05) 5x Zoom telephoto + 10.8MP (f/2.2, 121.1-degree FOV) ultrawide. The outer selfie camera is a 9.5MP (f/2.2) unite while the inner selfie camera is an 8MP (f/2.0) unit.

Google is expected to also use the I/O to unveil the next Android OS (Android 14), the Pixel Tablet and the affordable Pixel 7a. So far, all the major smartphone makers have a foldable smartphone in the market except Apple. There is no indication that a foldable iPhone is currently in the works.
