Citing support references from the just released iOS 16.4 beta (RC), the Beats Studio Buds Plus will be powered by a proprietary Beats chip rather than Apple’s H1/H2 chip. This evens out the playing field for Android and iOS devices connected to earbuds. Features such as ‘Hey Siri’, On-ear controls, USB-C charging, one-touch pairing, and Spatial Audio will be available.

There is no mention of a potential increase to the 8 hours of listening time with ANC turned off and 5 hours with ANC turned on. It is expected to arrive in ‘gold colour with black accents’ and miss out on AirPods-centric features such as iCloud Syncing, automatic device switching, and audio sharing. There is no word on a release date, however, it should be launched in the not distant future.

The reference in iOS 16.4 beta RC also disclosed an unreleased AirPods, which is speculated to be the rumoured Lite version or an updated version of an exisiting AirPods. The unreleased AirPods has the model number: A3048 and the charging case has the model number: 2968.
