Apple’s Peek Performance Event Recap: iPhone SE (3rd-gen), Mac Studio and More

Apple’s first product launch event of 2022 delivered a new Apple Silicon (M1 Ultra), all-new Mac Studio and Studio Display, iPhone SE (3rd-gen) with 5G connectivity and new iPad Air 5 powered by Apple Silicon (M1). Apple has teamed up with the Major League Baseball to stream two Friday night games live on Apple TV+ during the regular season. It will be available in eight countries including Australia, Canada, the UK, and the US. Fans in the US and Canada will be able to access game replays, highlights,classic games, and more. US fans will also enjoy the “MLB Big Inning” live show.

 

iPhone 13 (5.4-inch display) and iPhone 13 Pro (6.1-inch display) are now available in a Stunning new Green (iPhone 13) and Alpine Green (13 Pro) colours. The specs are basically the same including the Super Retina XDR display (plus ProMotion on Pro models), A15 Bionic chip, Ceramic Shield front cover, 5G connectivity, MagSafe and iOS 15.

The iPhone SE (3rd-gen) has the same exterior as the previous generation SE models, which were modelled after the iPhone 8. It comes with the A15 Bionic chip, which powers the iPhone 13 and 13 Pro models, supports 5G connectivity and adds camera features such as Smart HDR 4, Photographic Styles, and Deep Fusion to its single 12MP rear camera.

iPad Air 5 comes with the high-performing Apple M1 chip, which was reserved for Mac laptops and desktops. The iPadOS 15 running device has a 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display with 500 nits of brightness and an anti-reflective screen coating. There is also ultra-fast 5G (and Wi-Fi 6) connectivity, new 12MP ultra-wide front camera with Center Stage, USB-C port, and Touch ID.

The M1 Ultra is the final member of Apple’s M1 family of chips. It is made from a combination of two M1 Max chips using the company’s UltraFusion packaging architecture. The chip has a 20-core CPU, up to 64-Core GPU, 32-core Neural Engine, and consist of 114 billion transistors.

The Mac Studio and Studio Display were the last products to be announced. The former can be configured with either the M1 Ultra or M1 Max, and up to four Pro Display XDRs, plus a 4K TV while the latter has a 27-inch 5K Retina display, Apple A13 Bionic and 12MP ultra-wide front camera with Center Stage. They both offer various port options including USB-C and HDMI.
