Apple Watch Series 7 Pre-Orders Begin, Available From October 15

Apple will open online pre-orders for the Apple Watch Series 7 later today (Friday, October 8 – 8p.m. AWST/11p.m. AEDT/1a.m. NZDT next day) and sales will commence in stores from Friday, October 15. The new watch was announced alongside the iPhone 13/13 Pro series and new iPads at Apple’s September 2021 event, however, it only mentioned it would be available ‘later this fall’.

The company reportedly suffered various production constraints during the making of the Apple Watch Series 7, hence, supplies are most likely to be limited at launch. The new Apple Watch will arrive in two bigger sizes: 41mm and 45mm, narrower borders (1.7mm thin), and same lasting battery life (up to 18 hours on a single charge). The watch comes with a new UI optimised for a larger screen size, new QWERTY keyboard, up to 33% faster charging speed, water resistance rating (WR50), IP6X-rating (dust resistance), and two new unique watch faces: Contour and Modular Duo.

watchOS 8 on the Series 7 will mark the arrival of the new Mindfulness app, improved Apple Wallet, reduced distractions with focus, redesigned photos app and new workout types including fall detection. The watch retains its popular health and fitness-centric features including ECG app, Blood Oxygen app and sensor, and electrical heart rate sensor.

Users interested in the aluminium case finish can choose from five colours: Blue, Green, Midnight, (PRODUCT)RED and Starlight. The Stainless-steel case option is available in Gold, Graphite and Silver finishes while Apple Watch Edition is available in Space Black Titanium and Titanium options. Pricing for the Apple Watch Series 7 start at US$ 399/AU$ 599 and sales will commence for watch models: Apple Watch SE from US$ 279/AU$ 429 and Apple Watch Series 3 from US$ 199/A$299.
