Apple Releases tvOS 15.1 and watchOS 8.1 with SharePlay

SharePlay on FaceTime has arrived on iPhones and iPads, accordingly, Apple extended the feature to Apple TV models (HD and 4K) and Apple Watch with tvOS 15.1 and watchOS 8.1. The company also extended software updates to the HomePod smart speakers, the latest update (HomePod 15.1) adds Lossless playback with Apple Music (HomePod and HomePod mini) plus Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos supoort (HomePod only).

tvOS 15.1

With support for SharePlay, users can now share content they are watching on Apple TV while on a FaceTime call on iPhone or iPad (requires iOS 15.1 and iPadOS 15.1). There is also SharePlay support for group workouts and meditations in Fitness+ (subscription required), allowing up to 32 people participate in the same workout routine over FaceTime. As always, there are general performance and stability improvements not explicitly disclosed by Apple.

watchOS 8.1

With the update, Apple Watch users get upgraded Algorithm for fall detection during workouts and option to enable fall detections during workouts. There is also the COVID-19 vaccination card support in Apple Wallet, and Fitness+ support in SharePlay (Group workouts and meditation). There are also various bug fixes and improvements.
