Few hours after Siri spilled the beans about the existence of a scheduled April Event, Apple announced its Spring Loaded 2021 Event. The pre-recorded virtual event will happen at the Apple Park, Cupertino, on April 20 at 10AM PT/1PM EDT on Apple.com, Apple TV, and YouTube. In Australia and New Zealand, the event will commence on April 21 at 3AM AEST and 5AM NZST.

Apple’s Spring Loaded 2021 event is expected to see the introduction of a series of new hardware products across different categories. One of the highly expected products is the iPad Pro (11-inch and 12.9-inch) with Mini-LED display on the 12.9” model, new Apple-designed processor with the performance level of the M1 chip for Mac (Apple A14X?) and improved cameras. The company could also release the iPad Mini 6 and a new low-cost iPad.
The event could also see the launch of the awaited AirPods upgrade (AirPods 3 or AirPods Pro Lite?). Apple’s upcoming wireless earbuds is expected to feature the same design as the AirPods Pro, however, the stems would be smaller. It could feature touch controls on the shorter stems , interchangeable silicone ear tips, and LED charging indicator on the case. Pricing could also be in the range of US$199 / AU$319, few dollars short of the asking price of the AirPods Pro.
There are strong rumours that Apple could use the event to announce the iOS 14.5 arrival date as well as new MagSafe compatible case colours for the iPhone 12 line-up and new Apple Watch Bands. Other products that could make an appearance include the redesigned iMacs, new Apple TV with redesigned remote and modern gaming capabilities, and the elusive AirTags which Samsung already beat Apple to the punch with its Galaxy SmartTag and SmartTag+.
