Apple kicked off its October keynote event with the announcement of the Siri-based Apple Music Voice Plan. This new subscription tier for the music streaming service slots in ahead of the two exisiting plans: Individual (US$ 9.99/AU$ 11.99) and family (US$ 14.99/AU$ 17.99) for a monthly fee of US$ 4.99 (AU$ 5.99 inc. GST).

Apple Music Voice Plan offers access to the entire global catalogue of Apple Music (up to 90 million songs, thousands of playlists, personalised mixes, and genre stations) through Siri. Subscribers also get a customised in-app experience based on preference, dedicated siri section (Just Ask Siri) and full playback control. Subscribers can request music through Siri-enabled devices and features such as AirPods, Apple Watch, Apple TV, CarPlay, iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

Subscription can be done directly using the Apple Music app or ask Siri to initiate the process using the phrase: “Hey Siri, start my Apple Music Voice trial.” Non-subscribers get a seven-day free preview of the service with no auto-renewal.
