Apple Music Classical app Available For Pre-Order

Apple’s venture into classical music streaming is almost near. The company’s acquisition of Primephonic more than a year ago was overdue to deliver a standalone Apple Music Classical app for classical music lovers. Apple Music subscribers will be able to experience the works of Beethoven, Mozart, Bach, Schubert, Haydn, and other classical music artists/composers.

The Apple Music Classical app has been listed on App Store, with a March 28, 2023, launch date. At launch, it will only support iOS (iPhone and iPod Touch) devices running iOS 15.4 (or newer at launch) and will be available in all the countries Apple Music is offered. The service requires any of the Apple Music or Apple One subscription plans except the Apple Music Voice Plan.

References to the imminent launch of the classical music app surfaced in the source code for iOS 16.3. Subscribers will be able to search and listen from over five (5) million tracks in the highest audio quality (up to 192 kHz/24-bit Hi-Res Lossless) and spatial audio with Dolby Atmos. There will be curated playlists, exclusive albums, composer biographies and others.

The app is currently not listed for Android, iPad, Mac, and Web users. Anyone that pre-order the app will have it automatically installed on the launch date. Some sources believe the app will be available around the same time as iOS 16.4, so fingers crossed.
