iPhone 13/12S: Apple could Equip Next iPhones with 120Hz refresh rate, Always-On Display

Apple is expected to release the successors to the iPhone 12 /12 Pro series at some point later this year and while there have been different speculation about the names, the company could go with either the iPhone 12S or straight to the iPhone 13. According to a video released by EverythingApplePro (via Max Weinbach), Apple is expected to equip the next iPhones with 120Hz refresh rate and LTPO displays to lower power consumption. These feature were expected to  arrive with the iPhone 12/12 Pro, and when it could not, the company has reserved this feature for the new iPhones. The line-up would, however, retain most of the design and camera elements from their predecessors.

Another new feature touted is Always-On Display, which allows the user customize portions of the screen to show certain statuses (battery and clock), or notifications. This feature is already available on the Apple Watch Series 5 and Watch Series 6, and could make its way to the iPhone 13/12S. The phones could include stronger magnets for MagSafe to hold the accessories in place and vapor cooling chamber to cool internal proceedings when thing get scorchy but the chances of an in-display fingerprint sensor or the return of Touch ID is highly unlikely.

For photography, the phones will feature a new ultra-wide camera with improved sensor and 6P lens, and the familiar telephoto cameras on the Pro and Pro Max. There would also be a new night mode feature similar to the Astrophotography mode on the Google Pixel phones, and a single-move Portrait video feature capable of changing the depth in pictures during post-processing.

We expect more information to trickle to the grapevine as the months to  launch progresses. But so far we can almost confirm the next iPhones will have 120Hz refresh rate on their displays, MagSafe accessories, and four display sizes – 5.4-inch (Mini), 6.1-inch (Main & Pro) and 6.7-inch (Pro Max).
