Official: Apple HomePod Mini Smart Speaker

Apple started off its October 13 Event with the launch of the HomePod Mini. At 3.3 inches (8.4 cm) tall, the new smart speaker is billed to offer the intelligence of Siri combined with impressive sound and a smart home experience. It will arrive in Space Gray and White colours for a price tag starting at AU$ 149 (US$ 99) from apple.com, Apple Store app, and Apple Store locations.

As expected, the HomePod Mini works seamlessly with devices such as the iPhone, iPad, iPad touch, Mac, and Apple TV. It is powered by the Apple S5 chip and advanced software paired with full-range driver, dual passive radiators, and acoustic waveguide to deliver immersive 360-degree audio experience. It is also equipped with fourth inward-facing microphone design for Siri listening.

The smart speaker works with other HomePod speakers as well as radio stations and music services such as Apple Music, Amazon Music, Pandora, iHeartRadio, radio.com, and TuneIn. Siri Integration provides personalized intelligent experience for iPhone users and controlling smart home accessories with simple voice commands. The new intercom feature allows family members connect with one another over the speaker from a different room, zone, or multiple rooms.

Other highlighted features include – Siri Shortcuts, Ambient sounds, Find My, and Music Alarms. Apple customers in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Spain, the UK, and the US will get the HomePod Mini starting November 16. Pre-orders open November 6. The device will arrive later in China, Mexico, and Taiwan by late 2020.
