Apple Fitness+ Launch Confirmed For December 15 In Australia

Apple Fitness+, Apple’s upcoming subscription-based fitness service, is scheduled to launch on Tuesday, December 15 (Monday, December 14 in the US). The service, which is built around the Apple Watch, is expected to bring studio-style workouts to iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV for a monthly fee of AU$ 14.99 inc. GST (US$ 9.99) or annual fee of A$119.99 inc. GST (US$ 79.99).

At launch, Apple Fitness+ will have 10 of the most sought-after workout types including Core, Cycling, Dance, High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), Mindful Cooldown, Rowing, Strength, Treadmill (for running and walking) and Yoga. The music infused workout service will be coordinated by a diverse team of trainers and available as a standalone service or as part of the Apple One subscription bundle (Premier plan).

To get started, all the user needs do is select a trainer, time, workout type and the music to listen to. Users will get personalised workout recommendations, access to weekly new workout content and activity sharing to share metrics and progress with family, friends, and social media. There are nine different music styles to choose from and workout playlist will be available before workout starts.

The Apple Fitness+ requires iOS 14.3, watchOS 7.2, iPadOS 14.3, and tvOS 14.3. It will appear in the Fitness app on iPhone (Apple Watch users); iPad users need to download ‘Fitness app for iPad’ from the App store and Apple TV users only need to upgrade to tvOS 14.3 to get the fitness app.
