Apple debuts iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max

Apple saved most of the upgrades for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models. Both devices come pre-loaded with iOS 16 and feature the same Crash Detection feature, support super-fast 5G connectivity, Emergency SOS via Satellite and same display size (6.1-inch and 6.7-inch) as the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus. The rest of the features are drastically different including the choice of colours: Deep Purple, Gold, Silver and Space Black.

iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max is fitted with a mix of surgical-grade stainless steel and textured matte glass design. Both models have a new Super Retina XDR display with ProMotion, Ceramic Shield front cover and offers up to 2000nits of brightness – 2x the brightness of the iPhone 13 Pro. For the first time ever, the iPhone gets Always-On display and Dynamic Island converts the area around the 12MP TrueDepth camera from static to interactive.

Users can access important alerts, background activities and notifications from this area. Under the hood, both pro models are powered by the all new A16 Bionic processor with 6-core CPU and 5-Core GPU. The processor is manufactured using the 4nm process and the CPU performance is 40% faster than the closest competition. There is a new class of Pro camera system – a 48MP (ƒ/1.78) main camera with a quad-pixel sensor and second-generation sensor-shift OIS; new 12MP (ƒ/2.2, 120° FOV) ultra wide camera and improved Telephoto camera which offers 3x optical zoom.

The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max will open for pre-order this Firday and available from September 16. Pricing starts at US$ 999 (AU$ 1,749) and US$ 1,099 (AU$ 1,899) respectively.
