Less than a month after unveiling the winners of the 2nd-edition of the annual Apple Music Awards, Apple is back giving out awards, this time to the best apps and games on the App Store. The App Store Best of 2020 recognises 15 of the best apps and games accessible across Apple products and winners were selected based on their ‘positive cultural impact, helpfulness, and importance’.

To round off the list, Apple also highlighted that winners in the ‘App trends of 2020’ were developers who successfully joined the ‘Helpfulness’ trend to help people transition to life at home (lock-downs and remote working), stay healthy and connected with families, and get through the turbulent year. Each winner will be handed a physical App Store Best of 2020 award (the first ever) – inspired by the App Store’s blue icon and made from 100% recycled aluminum.
