With App Privacy Report, Apple users will be able to check how often and when permitted apps grant access to their camera, contacts, location, microphone, and photos within a 7-day period. They will also be able to see third-party domains receiving data from these apps. This feature will complement the existing App Tracking Transparency and Privacy Nutrition Labels on iOS 14.

To protect data from third parties, the impending software updates will deliver Mail Privacy Report within the Mail app and advanced Intelligent Tracking Prevention in Safari browser. The former prevents senders (including newsletters and subscription services) from using invisible image pixels within emails to collect information such as which, when, and how often an email was opened, while the latter been enhanced to hide user’s IP address from tracking.

Finally, Apple also announced that audio requests made via Siri will now be processed on-device by default, rather than using the internet. On-Device Screen recognition ensures that audio requests such as controlling music, checking the map, setting timers and more are processed directly on the iPad or iPhone, leaving no room for unwanted audio recordings.
