While the allure of the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro models are still in full swing, the buzz for the next iPhone models (iPhone 15) have started gaining momentum. Dynamic Island, a new feature reserved for the iPhone 14 Pro models, is expected to make its way to all iPhone 15 models in 2023. The feature makes the pill-shaped notch (Island) area more interactive by showing live activities, alerts and notifications.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!According to a prominent display supply chain analyst, Ross Young, Apple is expected to bring Dynamic Island to all models of the iPhone 15, however, ProMotion technology (10 – 120Hz adaptive refresh rate) and Always-on display will be reserved for only the pro models. The analyst reckons that suppliers would be unable to provide enough LTPO – the technology Apple currently uses for the Pro displays – to cover both standard (iPhone 15 & iPhone 15 Plus) and pro (iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max) models.
This means that suppliers such as BOE, Samsung and LG will be going over capacity, if Apple suddenly decides to go with LTPO for all models instead of LTPS for the non-Pro and LTPO for pro. Due to constraints in the supply chain, it is looking like the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus will have Dynamic Island in their 60Hz LTPS display while the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max will have 120Hz LTPO.

The company is expected to revamp the design of the upcoming iPhones since the current design has entered its third generation. So, it makes sense that it is looking to maintain a uniform design across board, however, there will be distinct differentiation between them such as the different choice of processor (A17 Bionic vs A16 Bionic), camera system, pricing and others.
